Aurora Safari Minibus

A flexible aurora chase in a small group. In Tromsø, every evening from September to April offers a chance to see the northern lights — and with over 19 years of experience and around 8,500 tours, chasing them is what we are recognised for.

Our experienced guides and local drivers use their knowledge and the weather forecast to find the best spots each evening. When several minibuses are on the chase, the guides communicate to see how conditions evolve and choose the best direction. Each minibus takes a maximum of 15 guests.

Chasing the northern lights is also about patience! While you wait for Lady Aurora, your guide entertains you with stories about this natural phenomenon and life in the Arctic. Weather permitting, they light a bonfire — thermal suits, hot drinks, a light hot meal and a local snack are all provided. When possible we use private camps with shelter and toilets, giving us unique spots to observe the aurora.

Our trained team also takes winter and northern lights portraits of you — low-resolution photos are included in your ticket, high-resolution versions are for sale shortly after the tour. Want to shoot with your own camera? Just ask your guide!

• Meeting point: Samuel Arnesens gate 1, 9008 Tromsø.
• Return: back at Radisson Blu Hotel by 2:00 am at the latest.
• Pickup from Tromsø Lodge & Camping when pre-booked (17:45 from 13 Nov–9 Mar, 18:15 from 10 Mar–14 Apr).
• Children under 10 and people with disabilities are unable to join this tour.
• Student discounts and youth rates available.
• The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
