What to expect

Pickup at Radisson Blu Hotel
Meet at 9:45 am in front of Radisson Blu Hotel in Tromsø. Look for the guide in a blue Luhkka.
Scenic transfer to the camp
A 50-minute drive through beautiful Arctic valleys and mountains.
Meet and feed the reindeer
Feed, pet and photograph our herd of 120 reindeer in stunning surroundings.
Bidos and Sami storytelling
Enjoy a taste of traditional Bidos in the lavvu while our Sami guides share centuries of culture and history.
Return to Tromsø
Back in front of Radisson Blu Hotel by approx. 2:30 pm.

Description

In a beautiful valley nestled between Norwegian mountains, 50 minutes from Tromsø city centre, our camp lets you get to know our reindeer — feed them, pet them and take wonderful pictures.

Afterwards our Sami guides take you through centuries of indigenous history over a traditional taste of Bidos, a reindeer stew with potatoes and carrots (vegan option available), sharing tales of reindeer herding, courtship customs and family anecdotes. Be curious and ready to ask questions!

Good to know

Pickup: 9:45 am in front of Radisson Blu Hotel, Tromsø. The bus departs at 10:00 am.
Return: back at Radisson Blu Hotel by approx. 2:30 pm.
Look for the guide wearing a blue Luhkka (traditional Sami poncho).
Duration: approx. 4.5 hours. Activity level: easy — great for families.
